Does your COVID-19 vaccine policy comply with California’s requirements? Learn what you must include.

Numerous California employers also are covered by one or more of the Biden September 9th vaccination mandates affecting federal contractors, Medicare and Medicaid funded facilities, and employers of 100 or more workers. The OSHA emergency temporary standard issued on November 4th detailed additional requirements.

In October, the California Department of Health mandated vaccination for healthcare workers, including those in detention facilities, and subsequently for adult-care facilities, as well as direct-care workers. In addition, Governor Gavin Newsom announced that California became the first in the nation to add COVID-19 to the list of mandatory vaccinations required in K-12 schools. Already back in August, the governor mandated either vaccination or weekly testing for all school staff.

Last but hardly least, effective November 8th, Los Angeles restaurants, salons, malls, and other public venues must demand proof of vaccination from potential customers. San Francisco has a similar requirement.
