Laura Dumin

Laura Dumin is a professor of technical writing and English at the University of Central Oklahoma. She serves as the program director for the bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, the program coordinator for the master’s degree in Composition and Rhetoric, and a SoTL (Scholarship of Teaching and Learning) mentor for the campus. She adapted her courses to start using generative AI in the spring of 2023 and ran an IRB-approved study to determine how well the semester worked.

Laura holds a master’s in English from Radford University and a Ph.D. in English from Oklahoma State University. Laura enjoys bringing creative assignments into her classrooms as a way to introduce students to difficult concepts and believes that we can learn more through talking to one another.
